In 2017, the United Ways of CA began using our EITC Connect solutions to provide English and Spanish language versions of an EITC screening survey via SMS to clients who opted-in through their 2-1-1 system. ​

After the initial opt-in, clients are automatically sent an EITC campaign in their selected language, with information, screening, and encouraging and timely reminders to file free online or go to a VITA site.

Person to Person:  Allows United Way’s community partners to easily opt-in clients on-site as well as through flyers and advertisements.  Once opted-in, clients will receive automated text messages.

Targeted Intervention: Allows United Way to send campaign out to targeted list of 211 callers.

Texting is one of the most effective methods of reaching people. 90% of low-income people have mobile phones and 95% of Americans text every day
